This image of a cheetah with a blue ball between its paws was taken at the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center. Fossil Rim consists of a nine and a half mile long driving tour of 1800 acres with 1100 animals roaming freely in large pastures, in near natural conditions. It is a non-profit conservation organization in Glen Rose, Texas. The cheetah, although endangered and part of a Species Survival Plan, has been part of a very successful breeding program that has resulted in over 125 cubs over the last 30 years.
Did you know the cheetah's top speed ranges from 55-65 mph?!
